The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is the Council’s international examination, taken in the five countries with the WAEC ordinance. Sierra Leonean candidates first took the examination in 2000. It combines school-based continuous assessment with the Council’s assessment and enables candidates to qualify for admission into universities and other tertiary institutions.
